Reflection essay

This semester was unlike any other, it was very different specifically because of the pandemic.      This course really stands out because it wasn't really about just giving assignments, we learned in a different way and I admire that. THE course has also been on a different website and we upload our stuff on Blogs which was a lot to get used to since it was my first time using it. This course, I would say, is very unique.        Most meaningful to me would be that you introduced me to these bogs where we can post on how we feel and I think that is great. What I also like is how you understand our situation and how sometimes we just cant do our work. Many teachers just gives us a lot of assignments without asking us on how we feel and I'm glad that at least one understands      Not procrastinating as much as I used to, is a huge accomplishment for me. I'm proud that I never gave up in this course so that is what matters. Another thi...

1. November 19: what can you change about yourself that would make you more effective at living your best life? What I would change about myself would be have more motivation to achieve things and procrastinate less.  2.  December 2: Today was a really slow day, i turned in a couple of assignments, did a little work out and studied for finals. It was so weird because this year has gone by fast. 3. December 3: I feel like I'm the only person who likes classes through Zoom. The reason is, I'm a introvert so i hated talking in front of others. I wouldn't mind if we went back but I would prefer staying home.

Essay

The book Fahrenheit 451  by Rad Bradbury is about a weird   society. A fireman named Montag would burn books that were illegal. In this world, firemen would start fires rather than stop them.  The way the author described this world, sounded very depressing and boring.  The people in this society would do nothing but watch tv and listen to the radio, this was a everyday thing where the people would not be social at all.         About half way through, Montag meets Clarisse; a neighbor.  Clarisse opened his eyes about his miserable and empty life, by asking questions that Montag never thought about. Montag then begins to question if books are really that bad, Leading to certain tragic events, he starts to read books and then starts to question the government.  Relating to the books, the police or government has higher power over anyone. The government burns any books or magazines that may have information that will open ...

Literature Analysis

1 This took place in the 1960s in Mississippi. It's about a southern journalist named Skeeter, returning from college with dreams of being a writer. She had decided to interview the black women who had spent their lives taking care of white families. One of the Characters who later showed up was Aibileen, an African American women who cared for a two year old girl who she loved dearly..... It shows both perspectives of both women in the book. Later on new characters come in, Minny, hilly and Celia.  2. The main theme would be radical prejudice: hate toward African Americans. All white characters are racist besides Skeeter . In the 1960's, where they still had to be segregated. 3. Skeeters routine everyday would be drinking coffee than brushing her teeth, then going to work. She worked at The Jackson Journal. After work she would hang out with her friends. This would be a daily thing up until the middle of the book. 4. Some literary techniques i have see so far would be Foresh...

Fire can Burn or Warm

its described as self awareness. The fire means how aware you should be of your actions. It can be both helpful and destructive because it has positive and negatives outcomes.

Enter Clarisse

My first impression would be her love for nature and how curious she was. I like how Clarisse made Guy Montag to change his view on everything.

Imagine of A Man

I find it weird how society was portrayed in this story and how it also refers to the story " The Pedestrian". Just like in " The Pedestrian" it tells how everyone is just glued to the tv. I find it interesting how the fireman would burn illegal books and the houses of those who owned them. Overall i liked this story.

Pedestrian First Impression

The story overall was creepy and spooky. Its also weird how the author predicted things that are happening today. Ironic how in the story, everyone is just stuck looking at a screen. Which kind of refers to todays children. Very fun story though i liked it.

How I Read

What I liked about the story was how the author predicted defunding the police and the cars that drive themselves.  He used different techniques but the one that stand out to me was how he told the story in a creepy way but also in a interesting way that made me want to read more.

How We Read

Reading is supposed to be fun, but sometimes reading for school is a challenge. Here are four ways we can have more fun reading and do it better at the same time; read a book you love. try to understand those books that you don't like. then define the word "read". Start developing an excise yourself instead of looking for one.

Pages From MY Journal #2

MMS part 2

The difference between a sign and a symbol is that a sign would be its meaning of the word while symbol has a deeper meaning to it.  The three elements are symbol, referent and YOU.  I'd say that "word" is both a sign and symbol because it represents something and has a meaning behind it. One sign I've seen is when someone is laughing because that means that person is really happy and enjoys life.  One symbol I've seen is a white dove, it symbolizes peace and love.

HOW I READ

I feel like it really depends on the book, I do dislike reading but if the front and back look interesting then I will read it.  First one is to pick a book you would love to read. Second, try to understand the books that you don't like and try to analyze why it doesn't interest you.  Third, think on how you would define 'read'  Lastly, Don't look for the answers on the page and instead find the confidence to find it yourself.  The first few pages are really interesting.

The Scariest Story.

1. I think his purpose of writing this story was to show that human nature has an evil side to it.  2.  It does fit her personality but it looks like brown doesn't have faith in her, basically doesn't believe anything she says.  3.I think it signifies her innocence and goodness.  4. Everything he witnessed was a dream but he made them feel real. 5.He is the devil in his dream. " Though the elder person was as simple in manner too, he had an indescribable air of one who knew the world, and who would not have felt abashed at the governor's dinner-table or in King William's court, were it possible that his affairs should call him thither". This implies that there was evil everywhere, especially in the government.   6. Its the devils staff which makes sure to make it clear that the old man is more of a demon than human. 7. I think if he didn't go into the forest, than his life would be much easier and wouldn't have any worries with his wife.

October Is For Winners.

1. keeping up with all of my work.  2.  What helped me was that you understand that we have other classes and its fine that we turn In thingd late and you giving us a second chance.  3.I will check in everyday and do all of my assignments

READING V. LISTENING

I prefer the audio message because with trying to read it by myself, I get easily distracted.
